Itochu Corp. <8001>Itochu Earns Biggest Net Profit among Japan Traders
Tokyo, Nov. 6 –Itochu Corp. <8001> outpaced its six major Japanese rival traders in terms of net profit for the first time ever in April-September, according to midterm earnings reports released by Friday.
For the first half of the current business year, Itochu marked a record group net profit of 212.7 billion yen, up 39.8 pct from a year earlier, thanks to sharp growth in its non-resources businesses amid commodity market slumps.
