長年の不況で、店を閉めなければならなくなつた。

旅費として彼に二百五十ドルを渡し、コネチカツトの実家に帰ってくれと賛んだ。

怪物の見世物小屋：

彼とウオルシュは、その二百ドルで小屋を借りた。

ジョージ・ワシントンの乳母と云う百六十歳の老婆を、50ドルで買った。
