1925：Yasha Heifetz IN TOKYO：

Heifetzが1917年来日：

アメリカに向かう途中で日本に立ち寄り、2週間ほど滞在。

帝国劇場から招かれ、1923年9月に初の日本公演が予定されていた。

関東大震災が発生：

しかし、関東大震災が起こって延期となった。

彼は日本へ向かう船中で東京が壊滅状態になったことを知った。

船内で演奏を行って、義援金3千円を集める。

1923年年11月に来日：

帝国ホテルで、3日間の公演した。

その翌日、日比谷公園で義捐野外演奏を行った。

再び義援金3千円を集める。

1931年に再度来日：

「帝都復興の恩人」とも呼ばれた。

9月から11月にかけて歌舞伎座などで公演を行う。

1954年4月、最後の日本公演：

滞在中、当時13歳だった渡辺茂夫を面接して彼の演奏を聴いた。

激賞して、ジュリアード音楽院の学生に推薦した。

and charmed the music lovers by his beautiful and skillful art on November 9.

Jascha Heifetz ：

traveled to Japan in the fall of 1923, weeks after the earthquake on September 1

that devastated Tokyo, Yokohama and the Kanto region,with casualties near 143,000.

He gave outdoor performances there and also gave benefit concerts to benefit Japan.

He was a forerunner among musicians to do relief work.
