中国での人件費急騰を背景に、日本企業が製造工程など拠点の一部を国内回帰させる動きが続いている。 日本貿易振興機構（ジェトロ）の「2016年度日本企業の海外事業展開に関するアンケート調査」によると、拠点移転を実施または実施予定の458件のうち、中国から日本が8.5％、日本から中国は6.8％となった。日本への移転が上回ったのは、比較可能なデータのある06年度以降初めて。調査は製造業と非製造業の計2995社から有効回答を得た。
