Mitsubishi Chemical:
Manufactures and sells carbon fiber composite molding materials (CFRP) for automobile parts.
On April 6, Group company ICPC announced that it would increase its CFRP production capacity.
Increased production of Italian CPC:
We will invest 35 billion yen to introduce the world’s largest large press molding machine with a capacity of 5,000 tons.
The molding capacity of large structures will be tripled from the current level.
The new equipment is scheduled to start operation in 2023.
Triple molding capacity:
Three 5,000-ton capacity presses will be introduced, for a total of four.
Introduced multiple new press machines with a capacity of 3,000 tons and 1,000 tons.
Increased painting factories and assembly lines for CFRP processing machines and automatic painting lines.
Molding large structures:
In the future, we will mold large structures such as chassis with complicated shapes.
It meets the needs for weight reduction of vehicle bodies such as EVs and next-generation mobility.
