1月２３日午後４時１１分ごろ、充電中だったコナ・エレクトリックで、原因不明の火災が発生した。
大邱市達西区流川洞（タルソグ・ユチョンドン）、タクシー会社の共用電気自動車充電器で事故発生。
電気自動車下部・バッテリー部分危険性から、消火が困難だった。
消防当局により同日午後８時現在で完全に鎮火した。
現代自動車：
現代自動車は、コナ・エレクトリック７万７０００台を対象にリコールを進めている。
集団訴訟の提起：
韓国のコナ・エレクトリック所有者１７０人が、
- コナ・エレクトリックの相次ぐ火災で、

15th Fire of Kona Electric Spells Trouble for Hyundai Motor, LG Energy Solution
Another fire
has broken out at a Hyundai Motor Kona Electric, the 15th since the first fire in May 2018.
It put LG Energy Solution, which provided the battery for the electric vehicle, on the hot seat.
Controversy over the battery problems of Hyundai Motor’s Kona Electric
is expected to grow as the vehicle on fire had already been recalled to lower the possibility of catching fire.
Hyundai Motor
launched a massive recall of 77,000 Kona Electric vehicles (25,564 units in Korea) sold worldwide in October in 2020.
The automaker is upgrading its battery management system (BMS)
to increase the sensitivity of charging, and is replacing batteries if abnormal signs such as voltage deviation are found between battery cells.
