Media Statement Regarding the Federal Communications Commission
The Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”)
voted today to approve an order that imposes limitations on the use of funding from the FCC’s Universal Service Fund (“USF”) to purchase products and services from companies deemed a threat to national security.
It also initially designates Huawei as such a company based on selective information, innuendo, and mistaken assumptions.
These unwarranted actions
will have profound negative effects on connectivity for Americans in rural and underserved areas across the United States.
