📶Softbank, joint experiment with 5G aiming for labor saving and remote control at construction site
Experiment contents and results
We set up an experimental station assuming the construction site at the control base 5 G × IoT Studio at SoftBank’s headquarters, and using the simulation system of the behavior of the autonomous construction machine * developed by Taisei Corporation and high-definition images, the current 4 G and 5 G We compared the transmission speed and delay value.
As a result of the experiment, we confirmed that we can communicate control signal of construction machine and camera image of high quality with 10 times transmission speed and 1/10 delay time compared with current 4G communication performance.
As a result, we can confirm the situation of the construction site in real time even from a remote location by utilizing 5G, it will be possible to control construction machinery and safety monitoring that will lead to labor saving.
