- 東京都内の宿泊療養施設で、
- 新型コロナウイルスの軽症・中等症向けに、
- 「抗体カクテル療法」を始める方針を明らかにした。
抗体カクテル療法：
抗体カクテル療法は、病院での使用に限られている。
東京都は宿泊療養施設に医師を常駐させることで、使用条件を満たす。
新型コロナ患者に点滴で投与し、重症化を抑える。
120の医療機関で投与：
120の医療機関で、入院患者を受入れ、投与できるようにする。
- 東京の都立・公社病院に、
- 抗体カクテル療法向け専用病床を、
- 20床確保する考えも示した。

Antibody cocktail therapy may cover more patients
Japan’s health ministry
is working to widen the scope of COVID-19 patients who can receive treatment using two newly approved drugs at the same time.
The ministry says
the treatment will be administered during short-term hospitalization.
In the so-called antibody cocktail treatment,
two drugs are given simultaneously to patients through intravenous drips to suppress the virus’s functions.
A clinical trial carried out overseas confirmed that the therapy reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by 70 percent.
The health ministry
will make arrangements together with local governments so that such patients will be able to receive the antibody cocktail treatment during short-term hospitalization.
The ministry hopes to expand the program as soon as possible.
