英政府とインドBharti Globalが、OneWebを買収し。再建します。
OneWebを取得したのは、英国政府主導のコンソーシアムであることが判明。
インドBharti Globalが、コンソーシアムに資金提供しています。
OneWebの経営破綻：
OneWebは、衛星コンステレーションによるコミュニケーション網の提供を、目指していました。
しかし、経営破綻して2020年3月に連邦破産法11条による保護を申請しました。
このほど、売却手続きが完了したとのこと（Twitter投稿）
Bharti Globalの意図：
Bharti GlobalはインドのSunil Mittal・Bharti Enterprisesの一社。
Bharatiは、OneWebによる世界インターネット接続サービスの構築を、続行させたいと考えています。
英国政府の意図：
一方、英国はブレグジットの結果、2020年1月からEUの衛星ナビゲーションリソースにアクセスできなくなりました。
PNT（位置情報、ナビゲーション、計時）サービスのために、OneWebの衛星コンステレーションを利用したいという背景があった。
今回の買収契約：
今回の買収契約ではBharti Globalと英国政府が540億円（約5兆8000億円）を出資。
英政府が、OneWebの株式の20％を所有。
Bhartiが、OneWebに今後のビジネス運営に必要な支援を行っていくという。

U.K. Government to Invest £400 Million in OneWeb

Japan-based SoftBank Group Corporation and Mubadala Investment Company
are in talks to support a U.K. government-led acquisition for London-based OneWeb, a financially-collapsed satellite company.
Bharti Enterprises is an exisiting shareholder of OneWeb and is working with the U.K. government.
The U.K. government is spending £400 million for a 45% stake in OneWeb.
The U.K. government hopes the OneWeb network could work as a replacement for the loss of access to the EU’s Galileo satellite-navigation system.
SoftBank Group is an investor in OneWeb, which raised billions before it ran out of cash.
OneWeb filed for bankruptcy in March 2020 in the United States when the company failed to land new funding.
Deal details will be clarified by July, 10, 2020 when the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York rules on the sale.
