Mexican car sales: 2018, a decline for 2 consecutive years – small car sales sluggish

National Statistical and Geographic Information Institute (INEGI):

2018 Automobile production, export and sales statistics announced (January 10, see the article on January 23, 2019)

Number of vehicles sold:

It decreased by 7.1% from the previous year to 1,421,458 units (a decline for the second consecutive year following the previous year)

Results by company

General Motors (GM),

Ford,

Fiat Chrysler (FCA),

Nissan,

Volkswagen (VW)

Sales of five companies have drastically decreased across the board.

Japanese and Korean companies such as Hyundai · Kia, Toyota, Mazda, Suzuki and others, BMW, Mercedes Benz (Daimler)

Sales of luxury car manufacturers grew (see table).
