Thailand (FTI): August auto production decreased by 8.2%: 4th consecutive month of decline

On September 17, the company announced that it produced 166,361 vehicles in August 2019, down 8.2% year-on-year.

This was the fourth consecutive month of decline.

Breakdown of production volume:

Domestic production decreased 2.0% to 83,021 units.

Exports decreased by 13.7% to 83,340 units.

According to FTI, the reason for the decline in production is

Exports are affected by the slowdown of the global economy and trade disputes between the US and China.

In Japan, the impact of stricter car loan screening is cited.
