UK (SMMT): Decreased vehicle sales for 3 consecutive years: BEV continues to perform well

On January 6, we announced new car registrations for 2019.
2,11,140 units, down 2.4% from the previous year.
This is the third consecutive year of decline after peaking in 2016.
SMMT: Factor analysis
Analyzes show that business and consumer sentiment is stagnant, the political economy is unstable, and emission limits are set (see the article on April 10, 2019).
Private vehicles: 1,018,258 vehicles, down 3.2% from the previous year.
Corporate vehicles: decreased by 34.4% to 92,095 vehicles.
Number of fuel types: (See Table 1)
Gasoline-powered vehicles: Although they increased by 2.2% from the previous year,
Diesel vehicles: fell significantly by 21.8%.
BEV / PHEV / HEV: Sales share reached 7.4% in total.
HEVs show a 17.1% year-on-year increase and still dominate the electric vehicle market.
BEV: Sales increased significantly 2.4 times over the previous year, surpassing PHEV sales for the first time.
Sales of mild hybrid vehicles (MHEV) have also increased significantly.

Various manufacturers such as Ford, Volkswagen (VW), and Nissan also appeared in the top 10 new car registrations in 2019.
