India (SIAM): January Automobile sales continued to decline – 280,125 units (1.9% decrease)

The sales volume of all passenger cars in January (general passenger cars, multipurpose automobiles (UV), vans) announced on February 8
decreased by 1.9% from the same month of the previous year to 280,125 vehicles, which was a negative third consecutive month.
General passenger cars: 179,389 vehicles, down 2.6%
SUV: decreased by 3.6% to 82,772 units,
Both fell for the third consecutive month.
VAN: increased by 16.9% to 17,964 units, which is positive.
SIAM:
Regarding sales declines in January, “Since the sale in the festival period from October to November 2018 did not hit, the movement to adjust the unsold inventory by the dealer is still going on.”
Monthly sales by manufacturer:
1st place: Multi · Suzuki
It decreased by 4.1% from the same month of the previous year to 101,865 units, which continued to be negative.
2nd place: Hyundai Motor
It fell by 1.6% to 35,439 and turned negative again.
Honda:
Due to the strong sales of “Amaze”, the number increased by 51.7%, continuing to be the highest growth rate.
