India (SIAM): September car sales: Festival season special demand

On October 16th, September’s automobile statistics (shipment basis) were released.
Passenger car sales [including UV and van]: (See Appendix Table 1)
Manufacturers have increased shipments to dealers for special demand during the festival.
Expanded to 272,027 units, up 26.5% year-on-year
Sales by vehicle type:
Passenger cars increased by 28.9% to 163,981 units,
UV increased by 24.5% to 96,633 units,
Vans increased 10.6% to 11,413 units,
Both recorded double-digit growth rates.
By major manufacturer: (See Appendix Table 2)
Of the 12 major manufacturers, 8 had positive growth.
Leading Maruti Suzuki:
It continued to grow steadily, rising 33.9% year-on-year to 147,912 units.
In particular, shipments of “Alto,” “Espresso,” “Wagon R,” “Swift,” and “Baleno” increased by 44%, contributing significantly to sales growth.
Second place Hyundai Motor:
Sales of SUVs “Venue” and “Crete” were strong, increasing 23.6% to 50,313 units.
3rd place Kia Motors:
The compact SUVs “Sonnet” and “Seltos” newly introduced to the market are selling well.
It increased about 2.5 times to 18,676 units, showing the highest growth rate.
4 companies including Nissan, Toyota, etc .:
Although the decline is still continuing, the sales of each company are showing a tendency to pick up.
