Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM): (See Table 1)
On February 10, the company released its car statistics for January.
Passenger car sales (including SUVs and vans) declined 6.2% year-on-year to 262,714 units for the third consecutive month.
- General passenger cars: 164,793 units, down 8.1% year-on-year,
- Vans: 12,992 units, down 27.7% year-on-year, further weakening sales.
- UV: Sales slowed to 2.6% y / y.
SIAM:
Consumer sentiment remains cold.
Manufacturers are also pursuing new emission regulations BS-VI (6), and inventory adjustments are being made for vehicles that comply with the current BS-IV (4).
By manufacturer: Sales volume (see Table 2)
In January, three of the 13 major manufacturers recorded positive growth.
1st place: The largest player, Maruti Suzuki, increased its sales by 0.3% to 139,844 units, positive growth.
2nd place: Hyundai Motor decreased by 8.3% to 42,002 units,
3rd place: Mahindra fell 17.1% to 19,794 units
Kia: Sales of the Celtos compact SUV remained strong at 15,000 units.
The market share of the four Japanese companies is 58%.
