Indian Motors (SIAM): June Auto Statistics: Continued Sluggishness, Call for Government Assistance

July 10, announced the car statistics of June.
Passenger cars in June: Unit sales (including UV and VAN)
It decreased by 17.5% year-on-year to 225,732 units, a decrease for eight consecutive months.
passenger car: 139,628 (down 24.1%)
UV: 72, 917 (1.0% decrease)
VAN: 13,187 units (18.7% decrease)
Deteriorating factors:
Sluggishness continues in each segment.
Increase liability insurance premiums,
Fuel prices rise,
Lending of car loan
Manufacturers are starting to reduce production for inventory adjustment.
Breakdown by manufacturer: (See Table 1)
Of the 17 passenger car manufacturers, 14 had negative growth.
First place: Maruti Suzuki: 111,014 units down 17.2% from the previous year
2nd place: Hyundai Motor: 42,007 units down 7.4% from the previous year
3rd place: Mahindra & Mahindra: plus 18.826 units, up 4.1% from the previous year.
