India (SIAM): October Car sales: Sales continue to be strong

On November 11, the October automobile statistics (shipment basis) were released.
Passenger car sales [including UV and vans]: See Appendix Table 1)
In November, there is a special demand for the Hindu festival Diwali (Torch Festival).
The car dealer has added inventory.
It increased by 14.2% from the same month of the previous year to 310,294 units.
General passenger car:
It secured positive growth with 182,692 units, an increase of 9.7% from the same month of the previous year.
However, the rate of increase decreased from 28.9% last month.
UV: 113,990 units, up 20.4% year-on-year,
Van: 13,612 units, up 29.2% year-on-year
Both maintained double-digit growth rates.
By major manufacturer: (See Appendix Table 2)
Of the 12 major manufacturers, 9 had positive growth.
1st place: Maruti Suzuki increased 17.6% year-on-year to 163,656 units.
2nd place: Hyundai Motor continued to grow steadily, increasing 13.2% year-on-year to 56,605 units.
Kia Motors showed the highest growth rate with an increase of 61.3%.
Sales of other manufacturers such as Honda and Toyota are also on a recovery trend.
Vehicle type:
Small SUVs and entry-level compact cars continued to drive demand.
Suzuki: “Alto” “Espresso” and “Bitter La Brezza”,
Hyundai: “Venue” and “Crete”,
Kia: New models “Sonnet”, “Seltos”,
Renault: The increase in sales of “Triver” was remarkable.
