Number of new cars registered in 2018:
decreased by 5.0% from the previous year to 267,490 units, decreased from 281,563 units in the previous year.
Israel with a population of 8.95 million, the number of new car registrations in 2018 decreased by about 14,000 units from the previous year, but it maintained 260 thousand units.
By Brand:
Hyundai Motor, for the third consecutive year since 2016, became the leader (see table).
In the top 10, five in Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, Mazda and Mitsubishi ranked in Nikkei.
Total of 10 Japanese brands was 97,734 units, down 5.6% from the previous year.
The share is 36.5% (36.8% in the previous year).
