New car sales in the first half of 2019: (Jan-June)
In the first half of 2019 (Jan-June) in the United States, new car sales decreased to 8,438,518 (down 2.0% YoY).
Sales in the first half were the lowest in the last five years.
Sales volume for the second quarter of 2019: (April to June)
It decreased to 4,431,851 units (down 1.5% year on year).
Manufacturer offer discount: 1H average of incentives
It decreased by 2.9% from the same period last year to $ 3,612 (according to ALG).
It has fallen for the first time since 2012 for the first time in the previous year.
The situation where the tendency to sell by increasing the incentive is a pause.
By sector: first half results
Passenger cars: Down to 2,593,836 units (down 8.9% YoY)
Small trucks: Increased by 1.4% to 5,844,682 units. However, the growth rate is at the lowest level.
Crossover SUV (CUV: 50% occupation of small trucks) increased only 1.4%, and grew moderately.
2019 annual new car sales (forecast):
Edmund’s dot com: It is estimated to be 16.9 million.
The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is estimated at 16.8 million units.
