Automobile importer’s federation (SDA): 2018 Registration number of new Czech cars – slight decrease, new fuel efficiency standards affected

Czech Auto Importer Federation (SDA):
The number of new car registrations in 2018 was 261,437 units, a decrease of 3.7% from the previous year.
The reason for the decrease is that after September 1, 2018, when calculating the exhaust gas standard value,
The test method (fuel consumption test method: WLTP) was mandated for newly registered vehicles
Registered number increased by 31.3% compared to the same month of the previous year due to the run-up registration before introduction of the system in August.
After September it decreased sharply for the fourth consecutive month (see Table 1).
By manufacturer / brand
The top ranked Skoda accounted for 32.2% of all registrations (see Table 2).
Below, Volkswagen (VW), Hyundai, Dacia, Ford followed.
