Korea (KAMA): 2018 Automobile Industry Statistics-Both production and exports decrease

According to the auto industry statistics released on February 11,
Domestic production volume in 2018 decreased by 2.1% from the previous year,
Domestic sales (excluding imported cars) in 2018 will decrease by 0.5% from the previous year,
In 2018, the number of exports decreased 3.2%,
Overseas production volume increased by 0.4% in 2018
Domestic production: (See Table 1)
Domestic sales and exports were sluggish, and production of Korea GM Gunsan Plant was discontinued, down 2.1% from the previous year to 40,028,705 units.
Domestic sales (excluding imported cars): (See Table 2)
Truck sales fell 0.5% from the previous year to 1,55,346 units due to sluggish construction business due to sluggish construction economy.
Export: (See Table 3)
Due to sluggish demand in the US and unstable economic conditions in the Middle East, etc., sales decreased by 3.2% from the previous year to 2,449,651 units.
Overseas production volume: (See Table 4)
China, the United States, the EU decreased, emerging markets such as India, Russia, Brazil, Mexico increased, 0.48% year-on-year increase to 4,058,537 vehicles.
Hyundai:
Although India and Russia increased, China, Czech Republic and the United States decreased, and production of 2,289,667 units decreased by 0.3% from the previous year.
Kia:
It was 1,228,870 units, an increase of 1.9% over the previous year, mainly in Mexico.
Korea Imported Vehicles Association (KAIDA): (See Table 5)
Imported passenger car sales (KAIDA member companies) in 2018 increased by 11.8% from the previous year to 260,705 units.
Audi, VW (prohibition of sales due to exhaust gas regulation fraud issue) has surged with resumption of sales.
In addition, the increase of Toyota stood out.
