New car sales in 2018: (see table)
New passenger car registrations in Japan in 2018 increased 3.0% over the previous year to 2,173,481 units.
Although the growth rate shrank compared to the previous year, it has exceeded 2 million units for three consecutive years.
Light commercial vehicles: Number of new vehicles registered
Small trucks (less than 5 tons): Expanded to 459,139 units, up 4.7% from the previous year.
Heavy-duty trucks (more than 5 tons in vehicle volume): Expanded by 7.6% to 54,285 vehicles.
Passenger car new car registration number: By manufacturer and brand
Renault Group: The Renault brand is 406,222 units, down 2.5% from the previous year.
Group affiliated companies, Romania “Dacia” increased by 19.1%. It remained strong with 140,326 units in the previous year.
Nissan: The number of registered vehicles is 59,606, down 16.6%.
