Malaysia (MAA): New car sales in 2018 increase year-on-year for the first time in 2 years

Number of units sold: (see Table 1)
vehicle sales increased by 3.8% from the previous year, 598,714 units
it turned to positive growth for the first time in two years, exceeding 590,000.
Production volume
Along with the increase in sales volume, it increased by 13.1% from the previous year to 594,971 units.
Units sold per manufacturer: (see Table 2)
1st Produa (second nationwide car): 227,243 units, accounting for 38.0% of the whole
Sales of the new “Myvi” are strong, double-digit growth, up 10.9% from the previous year
4th proton (1st nationwide car): decreased by 8.8% from the previous year to 64,744 units, set back to 4th place
Japanese manufacturer
2nd Honda: Keeping second place in share at 102,282 units, down 6.6% from the previous year
3rd place Toyota is 65,551 units, declining from the previous year, surpassing the protons and leaving third place
Mazda (64.8% increase over the previous year),
Mitsubishi Motors (up 31.7% from the previous year)
Isuzu (up 1.8% from the previous year)
Westerners
Mercedes-Benz, BMW also increased year-on-year.
