Tokyo Univ: a small fluorescent microscope on a smartphone: A highly sensitive biosensing method

The University of Tokyo:

On July 18, 2019, a smartphone camera is used as a detector.

Announced that it has developed a compact fluorescence microscope that supports single-molecule digital measurement methods with high sensitivity and high quantitativeness.

It was portable and succeeded in highly sensitive digital influenza measurement.

High-sensitivity digital measurement is expected to be put to practical use in clinical on-site testing (POCT).

Single molecule digital measurement:

A highly sensitive biosensing method that quantitatively measures target molecules related to cancer, virus, and bacterial infection.

Until now, a large fluorescent microscope was required to detect fluorescence by observing micrometer-sized droplets.
