Thailand (FTI): November car production: positive for the first time in 19 months

December 17,
November 2020 Automobile production recorded 172,455 units, up 11.9% year-on-year.
It turned positive for the first time in 19 months.
For domestic sales:
Domestic sales, which account for 56.5% of the total, increased by 18.6% year-on-year to 97,441 units.
For overseas export:
Exports, which account for 43.5% of the total, increased 4.3% year-on-year to 75,014 units.
Departmental:
Passenger car sales increased 9.1% to 66,296 units,
Sales of commercial vehicles such as pickup trucks increased by 13.7% to 106,159 units.
Domestic sales:
Domestic sales in November increased 2.7% year-on-year to 79,177 units, turning positive for the first time in 18 months.
The cumulative total from January to November decreased by 24.7% from the same period of the previous year to 688,057 units.
Export volume of finished vehicles:
Completed vehicle exports from January to November.
Exports decreased 32.0% year-on-year to 667,361 units.
Export value decreased by 26.9% to 371.7 billion baht.
Exports, including finished vehicles, engines, parts and spare parts, also fell by 26.8% to THB 533.9 billion.
