Germany (VDA): New car sales in the first half 2019: Strong domestic , exports decreased

First half of 2019: Domestic new car registrations

On July 2, the company announced that 1,849,000 new registrations were made in the first half of 2019 in Japan.

The number of new registrations in the first half of Japan increased by 1% year-on-year and reached the highest level in the 2010s.

Diesel vehicles: Occupancy ratio (see Table 2)

On the other hand, the share of newly registered diesel vehicles was 32.9%, and the share stopped falling.

First half exports:

Exports in the first half were 1,865,800 units, a 15% decrease from the same period last year.

Of the passenger cars produced in Japan, three out of four are exported.

First half production:

The slump in overseas demand affected production, and the production volume fell by 12% to 2,491,600 units.

major brand new registered vehicles (KBA): (See Table 3)

Looking at the number of newly registered vehicles by major brands announced by the Federal Automotive Administration (KBA) on July 3,

1st place: Volkswagen: 343,194 units, 4.8% decrease from the previous year, maintaining the top share.
2nd place: Mercedes-Benz: 161,178 units, down 0.9% from the previous year,
3rd place: Audi: 148,538 units, down 1.9%.

Nikkei brand:

Toyota: 44,416 units, down 0.6%
Mazda: 35,405 units, up 4.2%
Mitsubishi: 28,319 units, up 12.0%.
