Thailand (FTI): first half 2019 car production: barely maintaining positive

Thai Industry Federation (FTI):
On July 18, the Automotive Division announced domestic car production in the first half of 2019.
1,065,945 units, up 0.9% from the same period last year.
Exports fell 2.6% but domestic sales rose 5.0%, barely maintaining positive.
June: It was 172,878 vehicles, down 8.5% from the same month in the previous year, which decreased for two consecutive months.
Export sales volume:
June: Positive for the first time in three months, an increase of 2.4% over the same month last year, 97,575.
First half: Cumulative export volume decreased by 0.4% from the same period last year to 559,861.
Domestic sales volume:
June: Due to the tightening of loans by financial institutions, it decreased by 2.1% compared to the same month last year for the first time in 30 months to 86,048 vehicles.
First-half: Cumulative domestic sales volume increased by 7.1% year-on-year to 523,770 units.
Passenger car sales:
206,540 vehicles, up 8.5%, and commercial vehicles, up 6.2%, 298,808.
Sales share:
1st place: Toyota (32.7%),
2nd place: Isuzu (17.0%),
3rd place: Honda (12.0%).
