Thailand (FTI): Auto production in 2019, minus for the first time in five years: 2 million vehicles per year

On January 22, 2019, it was announced that vehicle production in 2019 decreased by 7.1% from the previous year to 2,13,710 units.

2019: Vehicle production

In 2019, it is the first minus in five years.

December single month decreased by 20.8% compared to the same month of the previous year.

This was a significant drop to 134,208 units, a negative figure for eight consecutive months.

2019: Breakdown of production volume

For domestic sales: 976,546 units down 4.7% year-on-year,
For overseas exports: 1,037,164 units, down 9.2% year-on-year,
Both domestic sales and exports have been declining.

Vehicle type:

Passenger cars: 804,340 units, down 9.1% year on year,
Commercial vehicles: 1,209,370 units, down 5.7% year-on-year,

2019: Exports

Sales decreased by 7.6% to 1,05,103 units.

Export: Destination

Exports increased in the Middle East (up 21.8%)

Asia (down 0.8%)
Europe (down 5.5%),
Oceania (down 15.2%),
North America (down 16.5%),
Latin America (down 24.2%),
Africa (down 19.5%)
It became minus everywhere.
