Satake: BALLAST CATCH released-Sept 2017 IMO Ballast Water Management Convention comes into effect

Satake:

MOL Engineering:

We jointly developed “BALLAST CATCH” which realizes labor saving of concentration work of sample water necessary for biological test in ballast water.

MOL Techno-Trade Co., Ltd. will start selling on May 15th.

The International Maritime Organization (hereinafter referred to as IMO) adopted in February 2004 the Ballast Water Management Convention, which sets the emission standard for the number of organisms (plankton number) in ballast water, and entered into force in September 2017.

In line with this, there is a demand for equipment that inspects the number of organisms in ballast water at each government agency or shipping company that conducts port state inspection (PSC).

BALLAST CATCH:

BALLAST CATCH saves the effort of concentrating sample water, which is required for testing with BALLAST EYE.

Joint development with MOL Engineering Co., Ltd.

In this machine, fix the main body to the handrail etc. and connect by piping.

After that, it is possible to concentrate the sample water just by flowing the ballast water.

The suggested retail price is 3 million yen (excluding tax) in combination with the Ballast Water Bioassay BALLAST EYE.
