ITOCHU : Started overseas culture of Euglena: with Indonesia and Colombia
ITOCHU Corporation / Euglena Co., Ltd.
ITOCHU Corporation, together with Euglena Co., Ltd., will start “Overseas Culture Demonstration Project for Euglena for Feed and Biofuel”.
In addition to the Republic of Indonesia, we have signed a cooperation agreement with a partner company in the Republic of Colombia.
As a result, the implementation system for this demonstration project was established, and the project started in earnest.
Colombia: Drummond Ltd. Colombia (DMMD)
Columbia Drummond Ltd. Colombia (hereinafter “DMMD”), which has signed a cooperation agreement, is a coal supplier invested in 2011 by ITOCHU Corporation.
We have secured a place for culture tests of Euglena near the thermal power plant owned by the same company.
It is intended to “use carbon dioxide and heat emitted from the power plant”.
