Canada: 2019 new car sales: falling for the second consecutive year

Announced on January 3 by research firm Deloizier Automotive Consultant.

According to statistics, Canada’s new vehicle sales in 2019 (passenger cars and light trucks) fell 3.6% year-on-year to 1,914,357 units.

It decreased for the second consecutive year.

By Segment: New Vehicle Sales

Passenger cars: (sedans, coupe, hatchbacks) fell 16.1%.

Light trucks: (SUV), (CUV), vans and pickup trucks increased by 1.6%,

Light trucks accounted for 74.7% of total sales, a record high.
