Russia (AEB): New car sales in 2019, down 2.3% year-on-year: decrease since 2016

On January 14, Russia announced passenger and light commercial vehicle sales for 2019.

2019 sales:

The number of vehicles decreased by 2.3% from the previous year to 1,759,532 units, which is the decrease since 2016.

In the fourth quarter (October to December), unit sales were 488,140 units, down 3.0% year-on-year.

At the end of 2018, AEB had forecast sales of 1.87 million units in 2019 (see January 18, 2019 article)

However, it seems that it was less than expected.

By brand: Sales volume (see table)

Lada’s 362,356 units (up 0.6% year-on-year)

Kia’s 225,901 units (down 0.7% from the previous year),

Hyundai 178,809 units (up 0.3% year-on-year).
