Netherlands (RAI): 2019 passenger car sales: same level as last year, EV expansion

On January 1, 2019 new car sales were up 0.6% year-over-year to 446,144 units.
It has exceeded 400,000 for the third consecutive year.
EV sales exceeded 50,000 units, far exceeding the initial forecast (28,000 units).
RAI expects to sell 425,000 units in 2020.
EV sales are expected to be more than 10% of the total.
By brand: new vehicle sales (see Table 1)
1st place VW (47,542 units, share 10.6%),
The second place is Opel (32,324 units, 7.2% share),
The third place is Tesla (30,911 units, 6.9% share),
Peugeot (29,318 units, 6.6% market share).
Toyota (27,128 units, 6.1% market share).
By brand: new vehicle sales (see Table 2)
Tesla Model 3 (29,922 units, 6.7%),
VW “Polo” (12,920 units, 2.9%),
Ford “Focus” (10,478 units, 2.3%)
VW “Golf” (9,263 units, 2.1%),
This was followed by Kia “Niro” (9,235 units, 2.1%).
Japan brands: New vehicle sales (see Table 3)
The sales were 69,548 units, up 0.9% from the previous year, and the market share was 15.6% (up 0.1 points from the previous year).
Toyota sold 27,128 units (up 15.7% year-on-year)
Nissan sold 13,151 units (down 15.3% year-on-year)
Mazda sold 11,036 units (up 13.3% year-on-year)
Suzuki sold 8,838 units (down 16.0% from the previous year)
Mitsubishi sold 6,358 units (down 5.7% year-on-year).
In addition to the “Corolla” and “RAV4” Toyota, the EV “Aigo” boosted sales.
