Indonesia (GAIKINDO): New vehicle sales in 2019: Exports increase

Indonesian Automobile Manufacturers Association: (GAIKINDO): (See Table 1)

Indonesian vehicle sales in 2019 were 1,030,126 units.

The trend has been increasing since 2015,
In 2018, 1.15 million units were sold,
In 2019, sales volume decreased 10.5% from the previous year.

By brand: Sales volume (see Table 2)

1st place: Toyota: 331,797 units (down 5.8% year-on-year)

2nd place: Daihatsu: Continued at 177,284 units (down 12.6%).

Toyota (MPV) Avanza: Sales were strong, rising 5% yoy to approximately 81,900 units.
Rush SUV: 61,500 units,
MPV “Kijang”: Continued at 52,900 units.

Toyota:

Increased Indonesian market share from 30.6% in 2018 to 32.2% in 2019.

In Indonesia, the share of Japanese brands remains at a high level of over 95%.

Chinese Wulin:

Domestic sales increased 31.4% year-on-year, and domestic market share increased from 1.5% to 2.2%.
