Toyota Motor Europe: (TME, Belgium)

On April 7, we packaged a hydrogen fuel cell and provided an FC module for “FCH2 RAIL”.

The FC module is a new model of “MIRAI” FC system.

TME is also participating in a hybrid power development project for EU railways.

“FCH2 RAIL”:

-Supports overhead line power supply, zero emission hydrogen train-

“FCH2 RAIL” is a project of EU R & D funding system “Horizon 2020”.

From 2021, it was implemented with a budget of 13.34 million euros.

Besides TME:

Spanish rail vehicle manufacturing CAF,
Spanish National Railways,
Spanish Railway Infrastructure Management Corporation (ADIF),
Spanish National Hydrogen Research Institute (CNH2),
German Aerospace Center (DLR) etc.

Eight companies and institutions from four European countries are participating.

Hydrogen FC module (TME) and
Equipped with Titanate LIB Module (CAF),

Participating agencies have developed a prototype of a hybrid power supply system.

The hybrid power supply system can be applied to both trains and locomotives.

We also aim to be a highly expandable system that can handle both passenger and freight transportation.

Orbital test with prototype:

Conduct orbit tests in Spain and Portugal.

Hybrid power supply system,
Optimize the energy efficiency of two-way driving,
Aim to obtain operational approval in Spain and Portugal.

Presence in hydrogen bus:

TME:

In 2018, we started supplying FC systems to Caetano Bus, a bus manufacturer in Portugal.
In October 2019, the hydrogen bus was commercialized.
In December 2020, invested in Caetano Bus to strengthen the alliance for Toyota’s FC bus development.

CAF :

In September 2018, acquired Polish electric bus manufacturer Solaris.
It gained a foothold in the German, Italian and Eastern European bus markets.
