SPring-8: RIKEN, structure determination rapidly from microprotein crystals
RIKEN (Riken) Synchrotron Radiation Research Center Development team of life synchrotron radiation utilization system uses microbeam X-ray of large synchrotron radiation facility SPring-8.
We developed a program that automatically processes data obtained from a large amount of microcrystals and enables rapid structure determination.
Our research results are expected to contribute to the rapid structure determination of membrane proteins [3] and their complexes, which are difficult to obtain large crystals in the future, and understanding of their functions and mechanisms can be expected to progress.
This research was published on the online edition of the UK scientific journal “Acta Crystallographica Section D” (May issue) (dated April 24: Japan time April 25).
