Kawasaki Heavy Industries shares manufacturing with Airbus Helicopters, BK117 helicopter series

The latest model “H145 // BK117 D-3” (hereinafter referred to as “D-3”) has been delivered for the first time in the world.

First delivery destination:

It will be operated by the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation (Norway) for emergency medical services (EMS).

In Japan, we plan to deliver the first domestically produced machine in the spring of 2021.

“H145 // BK117 D-3”

This is an improved version of the current model “H145 // BK117 D-2” (hereinafter referred to as “D-2”).

Full flat floor, ample cabin space,

Versatile rear double doors,
Improved hovering performance at high altitudes,
Low noise,

Equipped with the latest avionics:

State-of-the-art main rotor system that inherits the features of D-2 such as pilot load reduction

The performance has been improved as follows.

Effective loading weight:

Approximately 150 kg increase
Maximum total weight * increased by about 100 kg,
And about 50kg reduction in aircraft weight,
The effective loading weight is about 150 kg heavier than the D-2.

Shortening the maintenance period:

Structure that is easy to maintain
With a state-of-the-art main rotor system
The maintenance period is shortened.

BK117 helicopter:

Active in emergency medical care, firefighting / disaster prevention, police, news, personnel transportation, goods transportation, etc.
