JAXA announces that we have confirmed the arrival of asteroid explorer “Hayabusa 2” asteroid Ryugu (Ryugu).
JAXA injected a chemical propulsion thruster of “Hayabusa 2” and operated orbital control (*) in operation of “Hayabusa 2” on June 27, 2018 (*).
JAXA confirmed that “Hayabusa 2” arrived at asteroid Ryugu at 9:35 (Japan time) from data acquired from “Hayabusa 2”.
In the future, we are planning to conduct exploratory activities such as scientific observation of asteroid Ryugou and survey for sample collection.
