Mitsubishi Electric launches GaN HEMTs for Ku-band satellite earth stations: a detuning frequency of 400 MHz

Mitsubishi Electric:

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has released a new product that supports multi-carrier communication * 4 as a new product of the high-frequency device “GaN HEMT * 3 for Ku-band satellite communication earth station”.

Used as a power amplifier for Ku band * 1 satellite communication (SATCOM * 2) earth stations.

Released two models:

A model that achieves the industry’s top detuning frequency of 400 MHz,
A model that has achieved the industry‘s top high output power of 100W,
A total of two models will be released on January 15, 2020.

This contributes to “increase in information transmission capacity and miniaturization of satellite communication earth stations”.

* 1 Microwave with a frequency of 12 GHz to 18 GHz

* 2Satellite Communications

* 3 Gallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistor: High electron mobility transistor using gallium nitride

* 4 Wireless communication using multiple carriers with different characteristics such as frequency at the same time.
