Philippine Department of Transportation (DoTr):

On August 28, the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) bid for a 53km railway laying project between Clark Airport and Malolos.

Announced that there were bids from 11 external companies and 2 Philippine companies.

Breakdown of 11 companies:

Axiona (Spain),

Daelim Industrial (Korea),

Dong-A Construction Industrial (Korea),

Modern construction (Korea),

Italian Thai Development Public Company (Thailand),

Sumitomo Mitsui Construction (Japan),

Pembangnan Permahan (Indonesia),

Wasquita Karya (Indonesia),

Wijaya Karya (Indonesia),

EEI Corp. (Philippines)

Mega Wide Construction (Philippines).

Philippine National Railway (PNR):

The bid was closed on August 27 and explained that the proposal would be evaluated over 5-6 weeks.

Total project cost is 283.8 billion pesos (567.6 billion yen, 1 peso = about 2 yen)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide some loans.

Scheduled to open in 2023:

The plan is to connect Makati City in the Metro Manila to Clark International Airport in 55 minutes.

The total project cost of the entire NSCR project is 777.6 billion pesos and the total length is 147 km.
