Germany’s direct investment in Russia in 2018 was the highest since 2008.

The amount of direct investment in Russia in 2018 was about EUR 3.26 billion (up 15.6% over the previous year).

The German investment in Nord Stream 2 is estimated to total € 9 billion.

Major unipars and major oil and gas giant Wintershall have invested € 950 million.

Daimler:
Concluded a special investment agreement (Note 3) with the Russian government.
Opened a factory to produce the “Mercedes-Benz E-Class” sedan in Moscow in April.
The investment amount is approximately 250 million euros.
Volkswagen (VW):
Has a factory in Kaluga.
Production is also commissioned at a plant in the city of Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian commercial vehicle manufacturer Gaz Group.
Invested more than 500 million euros so far.
VW also announced its intention to make a special investment contract, and intends to expand local production in Russia.
