Nissan: Mass production of CFRP parts: 80% reduction in molding time
2020/09/03
Nissan Motor:
Newly developed mass production technology for carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) parts to reduce vehicle weight.
Mass production of CFRP parts:
Accurately measure the degree of resin impregnation into carbon fiber (CFRP) in the mold.
We have announced a simulation technology for the degree of impregnation.
Reduce development time by 50%:
By utilizing this simulation technology, the development period of the same part will be shortened by about 50%.
Adoption of C-RTM*1 method:
We have developed production technology for molding high quality CFRP parts.
Molding time is reduced by 80% compared to the conventional RTM*2 method.
C-RTM *1: Compression Resin Transfer Molding
A method of injecting resin and impregnating carbon fiber after making a gap without closing the mold.
RTM *2: Resin Transfer Molding.
A method in which resin is injected and carbon fibers are impregnated with the mold closed.
