Tsudakoma : Develops CFRP curved area layer machine: Lighter aircraft materials

NEDO is working with Tsudakoma Kogyo on “Development of automatic lamination technology for CFRP in complex shapes”.
Recently, we have developed the first small robot type CFRP curved area layer machine (Robot AFP) in Japan.
CFRP curved area machine:
A high-precision arm robot is equipped with a small laminated head of Tsudakoma Kogyo Co., Ltd.
“Automatic lamination of CFRP parts with complicated shapes such as curved surfaces” has been realized for the first time as a domestic machine.
Fields of use:
Lightweight and high-strength CFRP parts / The range of use of CFRP parts is expanded by improving productivity.
Weight reduction of transport equipment such as aircraft
We can expect reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission.
Tsudakoma Kogyo Co., Ltd. plans to deliver this laminator / first machine to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.
In the future, the use of carbon fiber composite materials is expected to expand
We also plan to expand into the automobile industry, etc.
