Teijin: Airbus with carbon fiber material: A320neo, wing spoiler

Teijin:

On July 21, we announced that Teijin’s intermediate materials will be used in Airbus.

Decided to use Teijin’s carbon fiber “Tenax”.

It is used as a material for the main wing spoiler of the main aircraft A320neo.

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc

It is molded as a wing spoiler at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a British manufacturer of structural components, and Prestwick UK plant.

CFRP spoiler:

The CFRP (carbon fiber composite material) spoiler is a combination of Tenax DRNF and Tenax DRBF.

Reasons for adoption this time:

RTM molding is superior in productivity and cost efficiency to conventional autoclave (hardening using a large pot) molding.

This time, productivity and cost were evaluated and it was adopted.

RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) molding:

In the mold

After placing the carbon fiber sheet,
A method of injecting a resin to cure it,
It is made by RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) molding.

It is the same molding method as the rear hatch of the current Prius plug-in hybrid.
