Based on the basic theory of complex science

Using the mathematical analysis method,

“Mechanism of formation and retention of combustion vibration of rocket engine” was clarified.

Rocket engine combustion vibration mechanism:

“Physics of Fluids”
Details were published in the journal “Physics of Fluids”, which deals with fluid physics published by the American Physics Association.

“Physics World”
It was also published in “Physics World” published by the Physical Society of Japan, which deals with fields related to physics in general.

Predictive detection method technology development:

“Combustion vibration” with pressure vibration of large amplitude

Not just rocket engines
Aircraft engine and
Even for gas turbine engines for power generation
It is known to occur.

It causes damage to the engine and shortens its life.
Elucidation of its formation and retention mechanism,
Technological development of the sign detection method is required.
Mathematical analysis based on complex networks:

Simulation data:

In 2016, the JAXA Aeronautical Technology Division Numerical Analysis Technology Research Unit conducted a simulation.

The data of combustion vibration in the rocket engine model combustor was utilized.

This study:

Introduced mathematical analysis methods based on information theory, symbolic dynamics and “complex networks”.

Fluctuations in calorific value of fuel and oxidizer:

The rocket engine analysis this time is said to be the speed fluctuations of the fuel and oxidizer injectors and the heat generation rate fluctuations in the combustion chamber.

By estimating the mobile entropy for them, the causality of both was investigated.

Results of this research:

This is a result that contributes to the understanding of the combustion vibration mechanism generated in a rocket engine.

It is expected to contribute to the development of rocket engine combustors in the future.
