CO2-SUICOM: Concrete that absorbs CO2!

– 197 kg CO2 reduction per 1m3 in cement production –

ーCO2-SUICOM absorbs 109kg of CO2 per ㎥ー

Report from Forbes JAPAN article

World Economic Forum 2019:

CO2-SUICOM, a concrete developed by Japanese that absorbs CO2, attracted attention at the forum.

In 2010, Tsuyoshi Toriri developed a plant-like concrete CO2-SUICOM.

CO2-SUICOM absorbs and fixes carbon dioxide during the concrete manufacturing process.

World cement consumption:

There is a problem that “the production of cement imposes an environmental load”. Cement accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions.

Boundary blocks of CO2-SUICOM:

Boundary blocks reduce CO2 emissions:

When CO2-SUICOM is used in construction materials around the world, it can reduce CO2 emissions from concrete by 600 million to 1.4 billion tons.

Compared to current emissions, a figure close to half to zero can be achieved.

Effects of CO2-SUICOM:

CO2-SUICOM has a pH close to neutrality. Be kind to plants and animals.

It also degrades more slowly than regular concrete. Demonstrate equal or higher strength.

CO2-SUICOM that absorbs CO2:

At the time of cement production, replace with “special admixture with low CO2 emissions and ground granulated blast furnace slag”.

It is possible to “reduce 197 kg of CO2 per 1m3” in the production of cement.

Furthermore, carbonation absorbs “109 kg of CO2 per cubic meter”.
