📞A questionnaire survey on the influence of the US trump regime on Japanese companies was conducted

Nomura Research Institute conducted a questionnaire survey on policies listed by the United States Trump regime against 136 Japanese companies operating in the United States. We are investigating and analyzing the evaluation of the feasibility of the Trump regime’s policy, the impact on our business, and the status of the development of information gathering system about the movement of the administration. The main findings are as follows.
1. About half of companies responded that the possibility of revising the comprehensive framework on trade such as TPP · NAFTA is high (see Figure 1)

2. “NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) renegotiation” answered that 44.9% of companies had a negative impact on their company (see Figure 2)

3. Even in companies with overseas sales ratio of 40% or more, about half of respondents were considering prospects for the launch of the Trump regime and its impact before the election (see Figure 3)

4. In response to the establishment of the Trump regime, although there is a movement to increase local production and local procurement, there has been no movement to step down to the rearrangement of global production bases (see Figures 4 and 5)

5. Nomura Research Institute (NRI) strongly recognizes conflict / terrorism as a major risk while emphasizing economic and economic growth within the United States (see Figures 6 and 7)
