Trump:5 companies including Huawei, Government procurement: Banned from August 13

On August 7, the government announced a “provisional rule prohibiting procurement from five Chinese high-tech companies” including Huawei.
Based on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Article 889 for the fiscal year 2019.
It was officially published in the official gazette on August 13 and entered into force on the same day.
Procurement prohibited:
The target of procurement ban is
Huawei,
Zhongxing Tatsumi (ZTE),
Kai Noda (Hyterra),
Haiyue Vision Technology (Haiku Vision),
Dafa
5 Chinese high-tech companies.
Provisional rules:
(1) Communication equipment provided by Huawei and ZTE (both of which include affiliates)
(2) National security video surveillance and communication equipment provided by Hitera, Hikvision, and Darfa (including affiliated companies)
(3) Telecommunications or video surveillance services provided by these companies or using products of these companies,
(4) Applies to telecommunications / video surveillance equipment or services of companies designated by the Secretary of Defense and controlled by the Chinese government.
Government agencies are prohibited from “procuring, acquiring, or extending or renewing contracts” for these devices and services.
