Diabetes treatment: Nagoya Univ, measuring blood glucose with contact lens – World’s smallest sensor developed

Nagoya Univ has developed ‘World’s Smallest Independent Blood Glucose Sensor’.

  1. Ultra low power radio transmission circuit and solid type glucose power generation element (power generation with sugar contained in tears) are embedded
  2. Successful trial production of contact lens type sustained blood glucose monitoring device.
  3. Contributing to diabetes medicine and diabetes prevention through the development of blood glucose contact lenses that can be minimally invasive and independently autonomous.

This research result will be announced at the International Conference IEEE BioCAS 2018 held on 17th October 2018.
